Overview
The AOR AR2300 is a compact “Black Box” version of the renowned AR5001D high-performance communications receiver. Engineered for advanced signal detection and radio spectrum monitoring, the AR2300 is ideal for both commercial and government applications perfect for surveillance, research, and communication analysis tasks.
Key Applications
- Signal detection and search in frequency or memory scan mode
- Spectrum occupancy monitoring and field-strength analysis
- Detection of unauthorized or interfering transmissions
- Counter-surveillance and bug detection
- Monitoring of broadcast services or internal communication channels
- Remote-controlled operations via LAN for networked monitoring systems
Performance Highlights
Computer-Controlled Flexibility
The AR2300 is a fully computer-controlled receiver that works with any PC running Windows XP, Vista, or 7. Through the optional LAN controller, users can remotely manage all functions—making it ideal for field operations or centralized monitoring systems.
Ultra-Wide Frequency Range
Covers a continuous range from 40kHz to 3.15GHz in 1Hz steps, with frequency stability of ±1ppm (or ±0.01ppm when using an optional GPS receiver).
Advanced Multi-Mode Reception
Utilizes high-performance digital signal processing (DSP) for a wide range of modes:
USB, LSB, CW, AM, SAM, FM, Wide FM, FM Stereo, and optional APCO P-25 digital decoding.
It also supports CTCSS, DCS, and DTMF tone decoding.
High-Performance RF Front-End
Precision-engineered RF design ensures consistent performance across all bands, providing strong selectivity, low noise, and high intermodulation resistance.
Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
Independent IF signal processing ensures crystal-clear demodulation, improved accuracy, and consistent signal levels without analog AGC distortion.
Direct Sampling Architecture (40kHz–25MHz)
Employs a 14-bit/65Ms/s direct sampling system for low-frequency bands, ensuring superior IMD and IP3 characteristics.
Simultaneous Reception
Capable of receiving multiple bands simultaneously: one HF (below 25MHz) and one VHF/UHF (above 25MHz), allowing triple-channel monitoring.
Video & Audio Capabilities
Features analog video demodulation for wireless camera signal monitoring and an SD audio recorder for up to 240 hours of continuous WAV-format recording (with a 32GB SDHC card).
Wideband IF Output
Includes a 45.05MHz IF output with 15MHz bandwidth for external signal processing, making the AR2300 ideal as a high-performance receiver front-end.
